If you’re reading this, then something has happened and you may not be able to use your Ikon Pass this season. Bummer! The good news is that we’re here to help.
First, you’ll need to make sure that the unforeseen circumstances leading to your inability to use your Pass qualify for coverage and reimbursement. There are many events that are covered, including but not limited to: family emergencies, illness, injury, termination from your job, and more.
If an injury or illness is requiring you to use your Pass Protection, you’ll need to be sure to see your doctor right away and get treatment so you can focus on getting better. You can see any licensed physician, hospital, ER, or urgent care clinic (as you normally would) that is convenient to you. We’ll need documentation from your visit so make sure to keep your paperwork so that you can upload it when you go to file a claim. If you are caring for a family member who has been injured, ill, or who has passed, we will need documentation for that as well.
If you have an involuntary change in employment, make sure to obtain and keep any documentation that outlines this change. These changes include involuntary termination, transfer, and being laid off. If you are active military and your military leave has been revoked (or you have been reassigned), you’ll need to obtain a copy of the official notice.
If your home is rendered uninhabitable, whether by vandalism, burglary, or natural disaster, we will need proper documentation as proof of this as well, including but not limited to, police reports, insurance claims, etc.
For an in depth look at what documentation is required when filing a claim and more examples, please review our Pass Protection Claims Guide.
Lastly, it’s time to file a claim. We ask that you notify Spot in writing of your plans to use your Pass Protection within 20 days of the unforeseen event occurring by logging into your Spot account (myaccount.getspot.com) and answering a few quick questions. From there, you will download a claims PDF to fill out, then re-upload that to Spot and attach your aforementioned supporting documents. Then, you’ll be assigned a claims advocate who will make sure your claim is processed quickly and efficiently!
