If someone you purchased coverage for needs to create their own account to file a claim, please chat with us below, or send us an email at spot@getspot.com and include:
- Your name, as the coverage purchaser
- The name of the insured who has coverage and needs to file a claim
- The email of the insured who has coverage and needs to file a claim
- The type of Spot coverage they need to file a claim for (e.g., Injury Insurance, Pass Protection, Trip Protection)
Once you email us, we’ll reach out to them using the contact info you provide.
Depending on the type of claim they need to file, there may be additional items that you as the purchaser, will need to provide so they can successfully file:
For Spot Pass Protection claims
When the insured files a Spot Pass Protection claim, they will need to submit a confirmation of purchase for the pass or passes showing the total amount paid.
If you were the purchaser of their pass or passes, you will likely need to share with them a copy of this confirmation of purchase so they can upload it when they file their claim.
Examples of a confirmation of purchase include:
- a purchase receipt showing the total amount paid
- a copy of the confirmation email sent by Spot after purchase
For Spot Trip Protection claims for a canceled or partially canceled trip
When the insured files a Spot Trip Protection claim, they will need to submit documents pertaining to the original purchase, and the cancellation of trip bookings.
If you were the purchaser who booked the trip, you will likely need to share with them copies of these documents so they can upload them when they file their claim.
When the insured files their claim, they will need to provide:
